The Horsforth 10k road race, organised by Horsforth Harriers, takes place on Sunday, September 29 from its established base at Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge at 10am.
The route mainly sticks to roads as it heads back towards Horsforth following a sharp uphill start, with a long stretch of flat on the canal towpath from near Rodley back to Apperley Bridge, with just the final couple of hundred metres on the grass of the Woodhouse Grove playing fields.
London 2012 Olympic triathlon gold medallist Alistair Brownlee is a former winner of the race.
Entries on the day are permitted up to the race limit but, to be sure of a place, log on to the Horsforth Harriers website, where entry forms can be downloaded: www.horsforth harriers.co.uk. Online entry is also available via www.ukresults.net and www.runnersworld.co.uk/horsforth10K. Every finisher will receive a race t-shirt.
This year’s nominated charity is the Joint Activities and Motor Education Service (JAMES), a local charity operating in the Bradford and Keighley district for nearly 30 years. The charity works with over 2,000 disadvantaged young people and their families a year.
