On March 22, Bradford Festival Choir will perform the Brahms Requiem, one of the acknowledged masterpieces of classical music. It was written after the death of the German composer’s mother. The text focuses on consoling the living, and the music is full of autumnal richness and lyrical melody. The choir will be joined by soloists Helena Leonard (soprano) and Alastair McCall (baritone). The work will be accompanied by the pianist Aleksander Szram, and the choir’s regular accompanist Christopher Pulleyn.
