Employer of the Year Award
WE’RE looking for employees to tell us why the firm they work for is deserving of this award.
Our judges want to know about the company which, in the opinion of its staff, provides the best working environment, best people-development practices, best skills and training programmes and demonstrates genuine care for the health and well-being of its workforce.
We will want to see examples of just why they are a good business to work for, and some specific illustrations of schemes, projects or gestures that put them in the running for this category.
Last year’s winner was Accent Group. This housing association is a not-for-profit organisation which has been established in Bradford for more than 50 years.
The company regards its staff as its most valuable resource and provides the training, support and encouragement for them to be the best they can.
The Customer Contact Centre, in Shipley, was established a year ago. Staff regard the centre as transforming the working environment into a “buzzing” place.
Staff report a high level of team spirit with investment in staff helping to develop their individual skills either in house or with recognised qualifications.

The Bradford site is one of the largest and most productive single site chemical plants in the UK, and has been manufacturing at Bradford for over 50 years. The site primarily manufactures products used to enhance industrial processing in various industries such as papermaking, mining, oil extraction and wastewater treatment, as well as manufacturing ingredients used in home and personal care products, such as thickening agents. The site is approximately 50 acres with 11 main production facilities and approximately 600 employees. It has an excellent safety and environmental record and enjoys strong links with the local community.
