Hammer nailed in Dudman double

NICOLA DUDMAN led the way for Phoenix Herts Athletics Club in the South of England Junior Championships, held at Woodside Stadium in Watford at the weekend (May 25-26), taking gold in the under-20 women's hammer.

Dudman threw 51.47m to take the gold with younger brother Robert equalling his own personal best of 49.10m in the men's under-17 hammer to take bronze.

Ciaran Andrews took silver in the under-17's women's 80m hurdles with a personal best of 11.75 while Robert Jones also notched up a personal best of 15.14 in the under-17's men's 100m hurdles although this was not enough to get in among the medals.

In the under-17 women's 200m, Sarah van Kempen ran 25.3 while Gillian Hurford ran a personal best of 2.17.02 in finishing fourth in the under-17's women's 200m.
