From the Telegraph & Argus of September 29, 1981...A former Bradford man has just bought the hotel where he once worked as a chef. John Fawthrop, 35, whose parents live at Moorside, Heaton, was head chef at the Cherry Trees Motel at Alchester, near Stratford-upon-Avon, when it was privately owned. John, who had always wanted to be a chef even before he went to Belle Vue Grammar School, bought it for £250,000.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 29, 1956...From St George's Hall, Bradford, last night two concerts were broadcast. This was part of a tour being undertaken this week by the BBC orchestra. In addition to the concert orchestra and soloists Vanessa Lee and John Hauxvell, there was the City of Bradford Police Choir and the Black Dyke Mills Band.
