25 years ago: Bradford schools faced more strikes and disruption when the National Union of Teachers pledged to step up action despite a settlement in an ongoing pay dispute.
50 years ago: Employers were in need of more than 1,000 women to fill jobs in the city. More than 60,000 women were working in the city, but employers had notified the Bradford Employment Exchange to say they could absorb 1,033 more in textiles.
