25 years ago: An alarming rise in offences involving the hard drug heroin had been detected by Bradford drug squad officers. The previous year there was a 57 per cent rise in offences involving the drug, mostly in West Bradford.
50 years ago: Ilkley Council was prepared to act in the dispute at Ryhill, a large detached house in Margerison Road, Ben Rhydding, packed to the window sills with papers and parcels. “It is in the interest of both safety and health,” said Mr Fred Atkinson, chairman of the health committee today.
