25 years ago: Campaigners appeared to have won their battle to persuade councillors to block a £50million development on green belt land near the M606, as Tory leaders refused permission for a 630,000sq/ft warehouse by the manufacturing firm Spring Ram, despite the promise of 1,000 local jobs.
50 years ago: The Central Electricity Generating Board announced a major £900,000 scheme to reinforce power supplies in Bradford, with five and a half miles of cable to be laid between a new sub-station at Wilsden and the power station on Valley Road.
