25 years ago: A new electronic device to deter dogs from attacking people was given the thumbs-up by dog wardens in Bradford, with the pocket-sized 'Dazer' shown to be effective by emitting ultra-sonic sound bursts to prevent the approach of unwanted dogs up to 15 feet away.
50 years ago: Four businessmen had a lucky escape when their single-engine Cessna Skylark airplane skidded for 120 yards before crashing into a wall while trying to make an emergency landing in a wheat field at Crag House Farm, two miles outside Leeds Bradford Airport.
