25 years ago: The Government was accused of being immoral for creaming off more than £3,000 in tax of the takings from a Hillsborough appeal match between Bradford City and Lincoln City at Valley Parade.
50 years ago: There was a touch of the Wild West in the newly-designed lounge bar of the Ivy House Inn, near Queensbury, because licensee John English had on display some of his huge collection of ancient firearms.
