25 years ago: New council estimates revealed that Bradford ratepayers would have to fork out an extra £15 million under the poll tax, with the overall annual bill for the district rising to £65 million.
50 years ago: Tenders were invited for work on the £144,000 Keighley bypass, a scheme originally given the go-ahead 25 years previously, but delayed by the outbreak of the Second World War.
