25 years ago: Dave Horsfall and Paul Mitchell, of Bingley Harriers, battled snow and rain to win the 33-mile Haworth Hobble – a race done in pairs for safety reasons.
50 years ago: Dorothy Hardman, 17, of Buttershaw, Carol Pringle, 18, of Bolton Road, and Kathleen Hagerty, 17, of West Bowling, won through the first round of the GPO Interflora Telephone Personality Girl Competition for Bradford and Idle exchange staffs.
