25 years ago: A Keighley MP promised to act over claims that a greetings card manufacturer in the town was exploiting hundreds of homeworkers by using them to pack Christmas cards for much less than minimum wage.
50 years ago: All 22 stations in Airedale and Wharfedale scheduled to close under the Beeching Plan were given a temporary reprieve after recommendations from the Yorkshire Area Transport Committee.
