25 years ago: All over the district, local people raised money for a variety of charities while enjoying themselves and taking part in a host of challenges.
50 years ago: The Women’s Voluntary Service, initiated to recruit women for the emergencies of war, reached its Silver Jubilee and members who expected their work to be just temporary were still busy.
