25 years ago: The “Herculean” efforts of Bradfordians to bring their city back from the doldrums were praised by one of Britain’s top industrialists. Bradford University chancellor Sir John Harvey-Jones, former chairman of ICI, said the city and the university had every right to be proud of their achievements.
50 years ago: The 54th annual meeting of the Bradford Central Cricket League heard that some games during the previous season were played without an umpire.
