25 years ago: Karen Lister flew some fish and chips from a Liversedge chippy to her husband Dale in Tenerife. The couple had moved to the Canaries but were missing the traditional English meal. So, on a visit home, Karen popped to Ken’s Fish Bar and then took the meal back on a four-hour flight for a delighted Dale.
50 years ago: Twenty-six wagons were derailed when a Bradford-to-London freight train collided with another goods train in Hertfordshire. Items from the wagons were strewn across tracks for quarter of a mile. No-one was injured in the crash.
