My thanks to Bill Lee for sending in a couple of photographs of events in the life of his Aunt Maggie (married name Moffat, nee Carroll), who for a long time worked as secretary to Harry Ramsden - the chap in the straw boater sitting in the middle of the front row at this staff gathering.
Maggie Moffatt is third from the right on the middle row. She's also present somewhere in the crowd on the other photograph, though not among the men hanging from the ladder pyramid.
What was the occasion, wonders Bill? And so do I. Can anybody enlighten us, please?
