Bingley Bees Men earned a well deserved point, forcing a draw from an organised Huddersfield Dragons-4 in Yorkshire Men's Division Six North.
Dragons opened the scoring in the seventh minute and doubled it with a well-taken reverse strike from the top of the D.
The Bees, however, were always in the game, and the second goal was against the run of play.
Good open play from the hosts led to a number of chances being missed before Robbie Manning put Stephen Booth clear for him to put the ball past the keeper.
The Bees new captain Tony Hart roused his team at half-time, and they came out full of attacking hockey.
The second half was evenly matched and, with the heat taking its toll on players, the pace of the game could have slowed but it continued unabated.
Manning got the equaliser in the last few minutes to earn the Bees their first point of the season.
