Bingley Bees gave an improved second-half performance in their 7-1 defeat at Kingston-Upon-Hull-2 in the Yorkshire Women’s Premier Division.

The home side came out strongly, accurate passing at pace helping them into an early lead.

A constructive half-time team talk by captain Kirsty Matthews made a difference to Bingley in the second half.

They gained much more possession and their defence worked well in feeding the ball to midfield, and their goal came from a superb pass from Janice Reid to Jo Geldard, who passed to scorer Mel Burgess.

Hard-working Claire Richardson was Bingley’s player of the match in punishing conditions.

Bingley Bees Seconds made their seasonal debut at Bradford Grammar School in Yorkshire Women’s Division Four and defeated Huddersfield Dragons-3 6-1.

Always in control and having the majority of possession, Bingley’s playmaker was Emma Hinkles, who was involved in all six goals.

Goals came from Cath Gallimore (2), Jane Sharkey (2), Sian Porter and a deserved sixth by player of the match Hinkles after a deflection by Gallimore.
