Hannah Priestley, from Cullingworth, has successfully passed her 1st dan black belt in taekwondo aged just ten.
The test was conducted by British Taekwondo, which is the national governing body for Olympic Taekwondo in Great Britain.
Hannah’s test involved performing patterns (pre-defined movements), one-step sparring (pre-defined self defence), full contact self defence (improvised) and full contact Olympic sparring.
Instructor Rick Simpson, a 4th dan black belt, has trained Hannah since she was five.
He said: “She can do sparring competitions, patterns competition and helps people out with their taekwondo in class.
“She’s really positive, trains four times a week and is a good influence on others – everything an instructor could dream of.”
Hannah took a break from competing in sparring competitions while she prepared for her black belt test, which involved focusing specifically on her technical ability.
Hannah now aims to get back onto the competition circuit, with two events in mind: the Sheffield Open Championships in June and the Barnsley Open Championships in July.
