Dean Winstanley won the latest Bradford Darts Promotions (BDP) tournament at Otley Social Club.

He gave a glimpse of what was to come in his semi-final in beating Dave Smith 3-0.

Winstanley led with a 15-darter and repeated the dose in the second leg.

Unfortunately for Smith, Winstanley really hit his straps in the third leg, finishing in 12 darts. His totals were 140, 180, 85 and a 96 finish.

In the second semi-final, Les Delderfield met David Copley and, after some average scoring, Copley hit a 137 and then checked out with 24 to win the first leg in 18 darts.

The latter must have thought he’d got the victory in the bag when he finished on double eight to go 2-0 up, but Delderfield fought back well and took the third leg in 15 darts. He then drew level with a 16-darter after hitting 32 at the second attempt.

Copley had a shot at 20 to win the match but Delderfield completed a composed comeback by taking out 82 for an 18-darter.

Delderfield maintained his momentum to win the first leg of the final against Winstanley in 17 darts but was then hit by a magnificent 11-darter.

Winstanley again fell behind to a 17-darter, responding with a 15-darter to make it 2-2. Crucially, Delderfield then missed seven darts at a double in the fifth, Winstanley taking it with double 20 on his 19th dart, and the latter then wrapped up the £200 first prize with an 18-darter, finishing on 59. Delderfield averaged 89 and Winstanley 94.
