Craven College sports development students Hayley Biancardo and Sarah Pate have been selected to be Craven’s Young Sports Ambassadors.
They were scouted from a number of young people who do volunteer work and help out with sports at different primary schools.
Until 2012, School Sport Partnerships across England will recruit youngsters to take on the role of young ambassadors.
Their aim is to work in their local communities championing sport and promoting the ethos and values of the Olympic and Paralympic movement.
In their second year, Sarah and Hayley will mentor the new intake of young ambassadors.
Hayley, who lives in Cononley, said: “It will give us more opportunities to do different things and we are both looking forward to the challenge of the two years ahead of us.”
Sports tutor Bridget Slater said: “It is a great honour that they have been chosen – both for them and Craven College. Both have worked hard.”
