A Bradford grandfather and granddaughter both set world records this weekend in the World Single Event Powerlifting Championships.
And, what’s more, the University of Bradford Powerlifting Club members did it on home soil.
Gabrielle Bennett broke world records for the dead lift and squat in the university’s atrium.
The 16-year-old managed 135kg on dead lift and 107½ in the squat.
Her grandfather Eddie also broke a world record with his 180kg dead lift in the over-70 Masters category.
The University of Bradford’s honours didn’t end there, however.
Patricia Kim retained her title with a dead lift of 110kg.
Kim said: “We receive great support from the university, who have allowed us to use their gym, and there was a great atmosphere throughout the three days.”
