Leeds Carnegie were beaten 51-49 by Northern Thunder in the Co-operative Superleague.
The match, which was televised by Sky Sports, was used to launch the Co-operative’s ‘Bring A Bloke’ campaign.
This has been endorsed by Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Carnegie, Huddersfield Giants, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, Castleford Tigers and Manchester City footballer Nedum Onouha, whose sister plays netball.
Leeds Carnegie are now appealing to dads, brothers, husbands, uncles and friends to head down to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Monday, January 12 to watch their televised match against Brunel Hurricanes for free.
