WYKE’S Joe Cullen finally ended his world championship jinx tonight at the seventh attempt with a superb performance against highly-rated Corey Cadby.
Cullen booked his first appearance in the second round at Alexandra Palace after seeing off reigning youth champion Cadby from Australia.
The 28th seed dropped the opening set but came back to win 3-1 in a high-quality, high-scoring contest.
Cullen will now play two-times champion Adrian Lewis on Friday night.
