Bingley Grammar School pupil Rebekah Tiler has been in record-breaking form again.
The Denholme teenager set six new British marks and three European in becoming British under-18 champion at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
Rebekah, who not only outlifted all the other females but was again named best lifter, snatched 83kg and clean and jerked 111kg, breaking the respective European records of 82kg and 108kg.
The latter lift also beat the British marks at under-15, under-16, under-17, under-18, under-20 and under-23 levels.
Rebekah was presented with her trophy by British Weightlifting’s head coach Tamas Feher, and her performance not only delighted him but also her Mytholmroyd club coach Eddie Halstead and her parents Emma and Chris.
It should give Rebekah confidence for the Commonwealth Championships, which starts in Penang, Malaysia on November 22.
Before that comes the Northern Schools’ Championships on November 3 in Ellesmere Port.
