Quest youngsters had the honour of an invitation-only opportunity to train with Sarah Stevenson MBE, Great Britain’s most decorated taekwondo athlete.

Stevenson, who turned 30 last month, is a two-time world champion and four-time European champion at senior level. She has also competed at four Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal at Beijing in 2008.

She now runs annual workshops for the nation’s most promising taekwondo talents, sharing her knowledge and experience with these upcoming athletes to help them prepare for the pressures of being potential elite competitors.

The training session with Quest Taekwondo, who have bases in Baildon, Keighley, Bingley and Greengates, began with a 15-minute presentation and motivational speech and video.

This was followed up by an intensive warm-up, stretch, pad work, footwork drills, sparring and a number of further talks, particularly around mental and physical preparation leading up to tournaments.
