BRADFORD No 1 AA

The members’ match at Raskelf was won by John Walsh with a 46lb 4oz mixed bag, including crucians, ide and F1s. Steve Warriner caught 38lb 12oz for second followed by Graham Jackson with 35lb. Andy Jacques goes into the final match at Cowthorpe on October 7 leading the aggregate weight with 74lb ½oz, just 1lb ahead of James Vickerman. Some sections of the River Calder will be closed on Sunday for a Calder League match, as well as Roecliffe for an outside booking. The River Aire in Castleford is worth a visit in the coming weeks. Knotford is fishing well for tench, bream and carp. It is now closed for proposals for this year’s annual meeting at Spenborough Ex-Servicemen's Club, Cleckheaton on October 10.

BRADFORD CITY AA

All the association's waters are producing good catches. Result of the Boroughbridge Gala Match at Brampton Farm: 1 S Fox (Bradford City) 8lb, 2 R Brooksbank (Bradford City) 3lb 13oz, joint 3 A Sugden & C Mortimer (both Bradford No 1) 2lb 5oz. WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for the week ending September 9 – Day ticket: Fewston 17, Swinsty 2, Thruscross (catch & return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 57, Swinsty 4, Thruscross 6. Average per rod: Fewston 3.4, Swinsty 2.0, Thruscross 6.0. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb 8oz rainbow trout by S Ballinger using black gnat. Fewston and Swinsty: Fish feeding early morning, taking emerging nymph just below the water’s surface. Later in the day fish going deep to avoid sun and hot, humid pressure. Evening rise feeding on buzzers. Thruscross: Brown trout taking fly in shallow water.

LISTERHILLS AA

The draw for tomorrow’s open match at Rodley is at 9am by the bridge. The next river match is on Sunday, September 23 at Aldwark. Bookings are now being taken for the Ian Smith Memorial Match at Rodley on Sunday, September 30, proceeds to be split between the Heart Foundation and other charities. BIERLEY AC

The carp did not come out to play on the last Captain Mainwaring 24-hour carp match, with many anglers biteless: 1 K Waterhouse 11lb 9oz, 2 P Briggs 10lb 6oz. Sunday’s match result on the first pond: 1 D Glenton 11lb 14oz, 2 Alistair Watmuff 11lb 11oz, 3 T Parkin 8lb 5oz. Cigarette butts are rubbish! Put them in the bins provided.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT AC

General meeting on Tuesday in the New Inn, East Bierley , commencing at 8pm. Try to arrive early as seats are at a premium. Our next trip is to Rhyl on September 23 and is now full.

BINGLEY AC

GRATTAN AC
