BRADFORD No1 AA: The veterans’ match at Raskelf on Sunday, fished by 30 anglers, produced a new match record for the lake as Steve Warriner won with 56lb 8oz of F1s and crucians. Other results: 2 Pete Wilson 48lb, 3 Neil Pickles 42lb 15oz, 4 Ian Graham 37lb 10oz. The winner of the over-70s shield was Dave Curry with 34lb 12oz. For health and safety reasons, the field bank of Knotford Lagoon will be closed to members from Monday until further notice. Sections of other banks will also be closed at different points during the next few week and the main gate will be locked throughout. This is due to essential work being carried out to erect an otter fence to protect the fish stocks from attacks which have plagued other venues in the area. Nun Munkton will be closed on Sunday for a members’ match, drawing at 9.30am, along with Beal for an outside booking. Raskelf is worth a visit this week for ide, bream and crucians and Gratrix Dam is fishing well for ide up to 2lb. Cowthorpe is beginning to produce catches of chub, grayling, dace and barbel.

WASHBURN VALLEY: The heaviest fish caught during the week was a 6lb 6oz rainbow trout by John Passelow of Otley using mayfly. Fewston & Swinsty: Water is still bank high and trout are taking mayfly nymph in the overcast mornings. Dry fly, hoppers and green drake are tempting rainbows in calmer water. Thruscross: It is still blustery and wild brown trout are feeding on nymph in shallow water. Catch details (week ending July 1) – Day ticket: Fewston 31, Swinsty 6, Thruscross (catch and return) 3; total fish caught: Fewston 180, Swinsty 45, Thruscross 14; average per rod: Fewston 5.8, Swinsty 7.5, Thruscross 4.7.

LISTERHILLS AA: The members’ trophy match at Pilley’s was fished in poor conditions. The winner was W Barker (4lb 14oz), with E Harrison (3lb 2oz) and 3 D Jackson (1lb 3oz) second and third respectively. Leading up to this the venue had been fishing quite well. C Green had some good catches of tench and bream, E Harrison had a good catch of quality roach and J Allon has caught several pike. The next open match at Rodley is on Saturday, July 14. There are no Sunday matches until further notice. The first river match of the season is on Sunday, July 22.

BRADFORD PALS AC: Result of match at The Oaks, Sessay, on Alders (16 anglers fished): 1 Dave Riley 25lb 8oz, 2 Andrew Field 19lb 0oz, 3 Pip Jowett 15lb 12oz, 4 Andy Clough 15lb 8oz. Well done to Tony Webb, Dave Riley, Andrew Field and Andy Clough for getting through to the finals of the club knockout. This will be fished on our last match of the year. Our next match is on Sunday, July 22 at Southfield Reservoir. We have limited pegs at this venue and the match is now fully booked. The draw will be at 9am.

HEWENDEN AC: Wednesday match result: 1 Andrew Healey 6lb 8oz, 2 Bob Greenwood 4lb 13oz, 3 Julian Harrison 4lb 5oz, 4 Mick Butler 3lb 9oz. BINGLEY AC: Result of Sunday’s match at Sunnydale: 1 A Greenwood 6lb, 2 C Dine 3lb 5oz, 3 P Kitchen 2lb 14oz. Rivers should be worth fishing this weekend with the extra water. The canal is fishing well in the evenings and day tickets are now available from Cleggs newsagents, Canal Road, Crossflatts.
