Laisterdyke A climbed to second in Division Two of the Bradford Summer League after holding off a spirited comeback from Hermits A.

Fazal Hussain and Safraz Khan both won their first two singles as Laisterdyke surged into a 4-1 lead, with Mick Kosmowsky replying by defeating Afzal Khan.

Hermits then clawed their way back to 4-4 as Mick Holt and Geoff Barnes both overcame Afzal and Kosmowsky recovered from 2-1 down to beat Safraz 11-6 in the fifth game.

But that was as good as it got for Hermits as Hussain stopped Holt in the final singles and also partnered Safraz to take the doubles for a 6-4 win which leaves their side eight points behind leaders Yeadon D.

Meanwhile, the Bradford League are offering a 20 per cent entry fee reduction for any new club or team for the 2012-13 winter season. Anyone interested should call Richard Priestley on 01274-416451.
