Pawel Idziorek of Heckmondwike Cycle Speedway Club was crowned under-19s champion in the Northern Individual Championships held at his home Firth Park track.
Idziorek scored a maximum 20 points to take the title, while other notable achievements by the club saw Darren Kent finish second in the veterans category and under-tens rider William Naylor just miss out on third place after a race-off decider.
Motorcycle speedway rider Jack Parkinson-Blackburn was a highly respectable fifth in the under-13s after his maiden cycle speedway competition.
Club training is on Wednesday evenings at Firth Park in Heckmondwike. For more details contact Justin Naylor on 07799-367370. Bikes are provided.
