LISTERHILLS AA

The last of the evening matches was won by E Harrison with 3lb 8oz. The draw for tomorrow’s annual Leeds-Liverpool Canal open championship is at 9am by the bridge at Rodley. The next Sunday canal open is on August 14. The next river match is at Linton on August 21. Recent trips to the River Ouse have proved a success, with several nets of over 10lb recorded and junior member Jacob Bonarius caught his first pike plus two good perch. The Committee Cup was won by E Harrison (2lb 8oz), runner-up M Johnson. The officials match will be run in conjunction with a canal match and the Rose Bowl on the River Ouse. Several carp to 15lb on floating baits at Pilley’s Dam and small pike to lures.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

Our next general meeting is on Tuesday, August 16 in the New Inn, East Bierley commencing at 8pm. New members will be made most welcome. We have a trip to Rhyl on Saturday, August 20. Our members who are in County Donegal all this week have not reported back, so no reports as yet on their exploits.

BRADFORD No1 AA

The second round of the Calder League is this Sunday. The draw is at the Black Bull in Brighouse at 9am. Nun Munkton on the River Nidd and Beal on the River Aire are also closed this Sunday for outside bookings. Knotford is worth a visit for carp on all banks. Shelf Dam is continuing to fish well for bream and roach. Raskelf is also producing good catches of F1s and ide up to a pound.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending July 31 – Day ticket: Fewston 27, Swinsty 19, Thruscross (catch and return) 2. Total fish caught: Fewston 87, Swinsty 78, Thruscross 15. Average per rod: Fewston 3.2, Swinsty 4.1, Thruscross 7.5. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb 12oz blue trout by R Smith using black/green fritz. Fewston & Swinsty: A quieter week with fish going deeper to avoid bright sunshine. Bigger fish once again taking lures with smaller fish taking natural nymph and dry fly. Thruscross: Really exciting fishing, wild brown trout rising to take daddy and hoppers from the water’s surface.

HEWENDEN AC

Result of the Wednesday evening match: 1 I Fieldhouse 6lb 6oz, 2 N Bower 1lb 5oz, 3 D Highley 1lb 4oz. The Wednesday evening matches have now finished. The next match is on Sunday, August 14, draw 9.15am at the car park.

CENTRAL AC
