Emerging talents Myles Stirk and James Lund fulfilled their potential with final placings during the highly competitive National Age Group Championships at Sheffield.

With six national times to his credit, Stirk produced some outstanding performances to reach the final in four of his events.

Seventh-place finishes in the 100 metres and 400m freestyle were both in lifetime-best times, as was his ninth position in the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

In the backstroke events, Stirk finished 11th in the 100m event and 14th at 200m.

Fellow 11-year-old City of Bradford member Lund, a breaststroke specialist, continued his rich vein of form with seventh-place finishes in the 100m and 200m events.

Both swimmers train with Bradford Leisure Services’ aquatic competition programme under the guidance of development coach Sarah Fisher.
