Embassy A and Yeadon B were involved in a ding-dong battle in Division One of the Bradford Summer League as a 5-5 draw proved a fair result.

Yeadon were never behind, with Chris Sanderson and Derek Greenwood both winning twice and Mick Burton once, but when it came to the close finishes, Embassy had the edge.

Tony Boyd rescued his side with three singles wins, including an 11-9 decider against Sanderson. Jack Dabrowski added one win – but only at 12-10 in the fifth against Burton – before Embassy added the doubles at 11-9 in the decider to salvage a share of the spoils.

The Division Two title race is hotting up nicely, with four teams still in with a chance.

Hermits F currently have a narrow lead over Embassy B, with Hermits E and Hermit D hot on the pace-setters’ heels.
