Yeadon Celtic C have made a storming start to the Bradford Summer League and are the early leaders in Division One after recording a third successive victory.
After 8-2 wins over Hermits C and Hermits B, they were involved in a much tighter affair at Unity B, where the match was nicely poised at 3-3.
Dave Renton and Steve Worsman both had fine wins over Mann Younis, while Bill Sugden beat Steve Winnard 11-9 in the fifth for Unity’s three sets.
But Freddie Yeung was the match-winner as he dropped only one game in winning all his singles. Winnard won two and Younis added one as Yeadon finished strongly to win 7-3.
Two other unbeaten teams met as Yeadon A entertained Unity A and honours finished even.
Neil Harris starred for Unity with three singles and Dave Renton added two but Yeadon hit back from 4-1 down as John Chew took two and Pete Clarkson and Rod Robertson won one each.
