The destiny of the Bradford Table Tennis League Division Three title was still undecided going into the final week of the season.

Unity D and Hermits A were both assured of promotion but going into their final matches it could not have been closer as they were level on both points and sets, with Hermits just in front having won one more match than Unity.

The odds still favoured Unity, however, as their last match was against mid-table Laisterdyke B - a team they had beaten twice 9-1 - while Hermits faced a tough trip to third-placed Embassy C.

Unity made it a hat-trick of 9-1 wins, with Steve Worsman and Alan Moulden unbeaten, and Hermits had to match this result at Embassy, who have proved difficult to beat all season.

The task was beyond Hermits, though, as Neil Foley won all three for Embassy and they had to settle for a draw and the runners-up spot.

Highdale C enjoyed the final week by confirming second place in Division Two following their draw with Fasbats B, and they also reached the final of the Tony Theobould Trophy with a narrow victory over Pudsey A.

Doug Bartle won all his sets for Pudsey, and they went into the final set with a seven-point lead but Gabriel Wilding beat Linda Sanderson 44-21 to put Highdale through.
