The reservoir continues to fish well for bream and perch.

Steve Webster caught 18 bream up to 2lb, plus some perch in a short three-hour evening session last week, and other members have reported 20lb catches.

Please note the reservoir will be closed this Sunday for the match (new members welcome), draw 9.15am, fishing 10.30am-3.30pm.

LISTERHILLS AA

The draw for Saturday's annual Leeds-Liverpool Canal Open Championship at Rodley is at 9am. The winner of the committee match at Pilley’s Dam was E Harrison with 17lb 8oz. The members’ match was won by W Barker with 6lb 7½oz, 2 E Harrison 2lb 14oz, 3 G Kitchen 1lb 9oz, 4 D Jackson 1lb 6oz. Result of the evening match on July 27: 1 E Harrison 2lb ½ oz, 2 L Oxley 11oz. Among the best fish caught during the last week were carp of 21lb 14oz by K Rastall and 16lb 8oz, caught by S Briggs. Some quality bream are being caught by carp anglers. There is a junior mach on Monday, meet at 1pm on the bank side. Entry is free on production of membership book.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending August 1 – Day ticket: Fewston 33, Swinsty 17, Thruscross (catch & return) 1. Total fish caught: Fewston 98, Swinsty 53, Thruscross 9. Average per rod: Fewston 3.0, Swinsty 3.1, Thruscross 9.0. The heaviest fish caught was a 10lb rainbow trout by John Waterhouse (Carleton), using damsel nymph. Washburn Valley: Water levels back up after rain. Plenty of bank space for anglers. Buzzers, nymphs, and dry fly catching quality trout. Thruscross: Wild browns feeding in margins on small black flies.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

Our next general meeting is on Tuesday, August 17 at the New Inn, East Bierley (8pm). New members will be made welcome. Reports are coming in of our anglers who are on a week’s fishing holiday in Ireland. On the first two days, our members caught seven boxes of prime fish, and among the catch was a 12lb pollock caught by Guy-Le Brass, and a 10lb coalfish caught by John Wilcox. On the third day, they went tope fishing and caught a staggering 24, the biggest scaling 38lb, caught by David Taylor.
