HEWENDEN AC

Result of last week’s match: 1 I Fieldhouse 12lb 6oz, 2 J Duncan 6lb 7oz, 3 B Hall 3lb 11oz. All weights consisting of mainly bream. Our water is starting to fish well for bream, with all pegs producing. Please note that the shallows are now open, and common sense should be used with regard to placing large spawning bream in keep nets. There is currently no waiting list to join the club.

BRADFORD NO1 AA

Rivers should fish well this weekend now the coarse season is open. Good weights of fish are expected from all our stretches of the River Calder and River Swale. Knotsford is still fishing well for carp and Raskelf is fishing well for all species. Cowthorpe will be closed this Sunday for a members match. Draw is at 9.15am on Tockwith Road. Places are still available for the junior match at Raskelf on Saturday, June 26. Call the match secretary on 01274-571175 for more details.

BINGLEY AC

Coppice Pond didn’t fish quite as well as expected in Sunday’s evening match due to heavy rain during the match and a drop in pressure.

Results were: 1 C Gallagher 17lb 14oz, 2 S Butler 4lb 15oz, 3 N Chuck 4lb 14oz, 4 A Newman 4lb 5oz. Next match will be at Sunnydale Reservoir on Sunday, July 18. To book, call T Greenwood on 07971-428678.

BRADFORD CITY AA

All of the association’s coarse rivers are open and good sport is expected from them. If any member has a good catch, please let the press secretary know on 01423-534243. CENTRAL AC

GRATTAN AC

LISTERHILLS AA

Last week’s annual open match at Rodley was won by D Moffatt (4lb), 2 W Barker (3lb 8oz), 3 R Thornton (3lb 4oz), 4 E Harrison (2lb 8oz), 5 G Reeday (1lb 12½oz), 6 P Smith (1lb 2oz). The teaching and junior match at Pilley’s Dam proved a success with all the youngsters catching something. Top weights were taken by A Hanson, C Ver and Z Thorpe. All received a prize. The draw for next Tuesday’s evening match is at 6pm.

SALTAIRE AA

The first day of the coarse fish river season saw chub and trout being caught but small baits, such as maggots and casters, were rapidly taken by minnows. A handful of anglers without club memberships were seen and directed to tackle shops for more impartial advice. BRADFORD & DIST SEA AC

Our trip to Rhyl last Sunday had to be cancelled because of bad weather. Our new premises at the New Inn in East Bierley went down well with members, and we would like to thank the landlord for making everybody most welcome. He was so impressed with our club, he joined himself! Our next trip is a Tope fishing one to Phwelli North Wales. For the one remaining vacancy, please ring Brian on 07901-717615.

WASHBURN VALLEY FISHERY

Catch details for week ending June 13 – Day ticket: Fewston 34, Swinsty 8, Thruscross (catch & return) 5. Total fish caught: Fewston 149, Swinsty 112, Thruscross 23. Heaviest fish caught was a 7lb 3oz rainbow trout by Kev Dorman, using black hopper. Fewston & Swinsty: Water levels dropping nicely, allowing more access. Fish rising, feeding on nymph and dry fly. May fly hatching in dribbs and drabs, with daddy long legs skipping over the water. Thruscross: Brown trout topping early morning feeding on abundant fly life.
