Bradford Maroons failed to build on the previous week’s win as they lost at leaders Sheffield Sabres.
The Sheffield team are yet to lose in English Basketball League Division Three North but were shocked to find themselves 20-17 behind after the first quarter.
However, the Sabres came out fighting in the second period and soon dismissed any hopes of an upset as their line-up, boasting former professionals and internationals, overpowered the visitors.
The Maroons were guilty of some stray shooting but they couldn’t contain the more experienced hosts’ offence and succumbed 81-60.
There was better news when Menwith Hill were defeated 76-63 in the Leeds and District Premier League.
The Maroons play Derby Trailblazers II at Parkside Sports Centre tomorrow.
