BRADFORD SEA AC

Our annual meeting is on Tuesday, November 17 at the Girlington Conservative Club on Thornton Road, 8pm start. As many members as possible should try and attend and new members are welcome to come along. Our next trip is to Liverpool Bay on November 21. There are a few places left. If interested, telephone Dave Taylor on 07926-411103 to book a place. Reports are coming in of small numbers of fish, mostly cod, moving inshore. One party of anglers from our club went out on Wednesday on “Shy Torque 3” and caught some very nice cod up to 6lb. Dave Kitchingman caught a nice pollock of 7lb. All fish were taking cocktail baits of squid, lug worm and razor fish.

LISTERHILLS AA

Because of the adverse weather conditions it was decided before the start to shorten the duration of the match at Pilley’s Dam. The winner was E Harrison with a catch of skimmers weighing 8lb 4oz, runner-up D Jackson 3lb. Several members have recently turned to pike fishing. The best fish last week weighed 8lb and was caught by L Relton. J Dean has had some good catches of roach and a few bream at Rodley taken in short morning sessions.

SALTAIRE AA

Contrary to earlier information which was based on the details printed in the yearbook, we will not be running any canal matches until December 6. The first river match of the season is on Sunday. There are currently two vacancies. Ghyll Beck, which feeds water into Tong Park, has been in flood for the last week. Volunteers are wanted to assist with the clearing up that is required. BRADFORD NO 1 AA

The result of the final round of the Calder League: 1 D Pollitt, 2 A Dobie, 3 C Turbitt. The winning team on the day were Punkies 8 with 19½ points. The league winning team were Maver Barnsley with 38½ points and second were Sensas Wibsey. The aggregate winner was G Scoolick with 50lb 3z. The River Aire at Beal is closed this weekend for the open match. Tickets are still available from Simon Foster on 01274-571175 and Wibsey Angling Centre, 01274-604542. Waters worth a visit this weekend are Pollington on the Aire and Calder Canal and Willow Hall Dam at Sowerby Bridge.

BINGLEY AC

Sunday’s match will be held on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Micklethwaite Bridge to the top of the Five Rise Locks. Draw 9am at the top of Canal Road, Crossflatts (white railings). There will be a pie and peas supper after the meeting for those members wishing to stay on.

KL TACKLE

Last week’s winter league match at Forest Lane, York, was won by Dave Parkinson with 45lb 2oz, 2nd Alan Copperwhaite 28lb 3oz, 3rd Vinnie Freeman 19lb 1oz. Any anglers wanting to fish this Sunday’s open match at Sunrise (match lake), contact the shop. This year’s KL Christmas cheer match will be held at the Sunrise complex, date to be confirmed, and is open to all KL regulars.

WASHBURN VALLEY

Catch details for the week ending November 1: The heaviest fish was an 8½lb rainbow caught by Kahn using Orange Fritz. Fewston & Swinsty: Reservoirs now filling up with water. Fish taking daddy long legs, dry flys and lures. Spinning on Swinsty very popular.

BRADFORD CITY AA

HEWENDEN AC
