Right on Cue

Damien Wilks holds district bragging rights after being the only Bradford representative to make it through to the YORKSHIRE SNOOKER HANDICAP quarter-finals from the qualifiers at Cue Gardens.

He beat Bradford No 1 player Sajid Khan 3-0 and knocked out Manningham Ward clubmate Gareth Green 3-2 in the last 16 along the way to qualification.

Wilks now faces Curtis Lewis of Leeds in the last eight at the same venue on Sunday (10.30am), when the competition is played to a conclusion.

Wilks and Green will also be in action on Sunday evening at Manningham Ward as Bradford No 2 host defending champions Castleford No 1 in Division One of the YORKSHIRE INTER-DISTRICT LEAGUE.

Bradford No 1 are at home at Thornton Conservative club as they host leaders Sheffield No 2. Both matches start at 7.30pm.

Tomorrow night sees first-leg matches take place in the first round proper of the Flexprint Services-sponsored HEY’S TROPHY. The second legs take place on Thursday, November 19.

The draw for the first round of the BRADFORD SNOOKER SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP has paired defending champion Ilyas Khan of New Cuedos with Manningham Ward’s James Fisher.
