Bradford Maroons are still chasing an elusive first victory in EBL Division Three North after slumping to a 68-60 defeat at Stockport Falcons.

This latest disappointment was almost identical to their previous performances this season, with the Maroons slipping away in the final quarter after failing to defend a slender lead.

It was still a brave effort from Bradford after being handicapped when Dut Malek and Richard Sulcs fouled out.

Malek and Sulcs had led the scoring with 22 and 18 points respectively, while Nicky Laungani chipped in another eight.

The Maroons are next in action on Sunday at home to newcomers Sefton Stars. Tip-off time is 2.30pm at Parkside Road Sports Centre.

Meanwhile, the Maroons’ persistence was rewarded with two victories in the Leeds & District Premier League.

The squad was decimated during the close season but the new-look side appear to be starting to gel.

They first won 91-80 against Deighton after promising league debuts from Marios Mingins and Lionel Chi.

This was followed by an 84-80 victory over a highly physical Leeds Carnegie side, with Sulcs producing a terrific display.
