WASHBURN VALLEY: Fewston: The weather is all against anglers for the start of a new season but, despite this, some good fish have been landed - mostly to big and bright lures. With all the new water, bloodworm have taken a few. Thruscross: It's hard work in all this wind but worth it. Fish are staying well below the surface, with a small Ace of Spades taking a couple. The heaviest fish caught in the week ending March 30 was a 5lb 8oz rainbow trout by P Grassby using Olive Fritz. Other fish of note: 5lb+ = 5; 4lb+ = 1; 3lb+ = 10. BRADFORD NO 1: There are have been 500 ide and 500 tench stocked this week at Raskelf Lake. Rod licenses should now be purchased for the new season. Existing members have until December 31 to renew their year-books. Water is fishing well Ben Rhydding, Addingham and the gravel pits section of the River Calder to fly and worm. Raskelf Lake and Shelf Dam are also worth a try.
