With Welsh champion Sian Morgan in preparation for the British Championships and Olympic Trials in Sheffield, brother and sister James and Lorna Dawson were City of Bradford's only representatives at the Welsh National Championships at the 50-metre Welsh National Pool in Swansea.
James secured no less than six national titles in the boys' 12 and under age group and his performances did not go unnoticed by the Welsh national coach.
His wins came in the 100 metres and 200m breaststroke, 100m and 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 200m backstroke.
Not content with this, he also won silver in the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle and bronze in the 100m freestyle. All nine were in personal-best times.
Lorna, who, at 17 is five years older than James, was swimming in her last Welsh Youth National and was delighted to come home with silver in the 200m individual medley and bronzes in the 100m and 200m breaststroke in the girls' 16-17 years' age group.
Both swimmers train under the guidance of coach Sarah Fisher on Sport and Leisure Service's coaching and training scheme.
