Bradford Maroons basketball side began the year with a 101-81 defeat at home to Leeds Met Carnegie despite a strong opening quarter.
The hosts won the first period 21-18 but Leeds proved too strong and victory put them top of EBL Division Three North.
On Sunday the Maroons have another tough fixture when they welcome second-placed Lune Mansfield Stars, who are undefeated. Tip-off is 2.30pm at Parkside Road Sports Centre.
