WASHBURN VALLEY

The heaviest fish caught this month was an 11lb rainbow trout by Nick Betts using Montana fly.

The heaviest fish caught this week was a 7lb 4oz trout by Brian Murray using black buzzer. Fewston: The ever-popular Dawson's Olive is still catching fish. Montanas and black buzzer have caught some good fish. Fish in very good condition and fighting hard, now taking buzzers and nymphs as Mayfly are starting to hatch. Swinsty: Regular anglers are visiting midweek for the tranquil setting and great sport from hard-fighting blue and rainbow trout. On Saturday we staged our Water Aid charity event. Aran from Hebden took the individual prize with 14 fish and all had a good day. Thruscross: Catching wild brown trout is possibly the greatest test of skill for the fly fisherman. Thruscross will reward. Blustery conditions mean you have to work hard for your fish. Spider patterns and hawthorn fly are very popular.
