HERMITS D maintained their unbeaten record in Division Two of the Bradford League with a fifth successive win to stay on the heels of leaders Fastbats A.

It looked as though their match at third-placed Highdale B would be close as the first four sets were shared.

Highdale duo George Bak and Phil Mann both overcame Steven Mills but Pete Johnson and Ian Warner replied impressively for Hermits as neither dropped a game in defeating Mann and Mick Kosmowsky.

Hermits then took charge as Johnson and Warner maintained their standards to record three wins apiece and also the doubles to wrap up a comfortable 8-2 success.

There was a tight contest in Division One between Unity A and Embassy-Police B, who were previously unbeaten.

Phil Cawser took the honours for Unity with a treble but he only just squeezed home against Jacek Dabrowski at 15-13 in the fifth game.

Ian Gomersall had two good wins over Dabrowski and Tony Boyd and Dave Rawlins secured a 6-4 victory for Unity with a 3-0 win over the luckless Dabrowski.
