JOHN and Marc Armitage (Littlemoor) and Kyle Rennison and Neil Wood (Leeds) were the first qualifiers in the Guiseley Winter Pairs.

The Armitages beat Paul Hillam and Paul Rooks (Eccleshill) 21-16 to qualify, while Rennison and Wood made it through after beating Danny Teale and Guy Barrie (Rufford) 21-18 in the final game.

* KEZ Smith and Mark Hughes (Crossgates) and Gareth Coates and Clive Austin (Halifax) were the latest qualifiers in the Farsley Winter Pairs. Qualifying continues on Sunday from 11am.

* SHIPLEY Club are looking for teams for their Short Mat Indoor Bowls League, which is due to start on Monday, November 16 and run until March next year.
