BRADFORD'S Platinum Boxing Academy have been digging for gold with a glittering run of form.
The Idle-based club are enjoying a rich spell which kicked off when 12-year-old Patrick Lee won the 34kg competition at the English Schools Championships in Sheffield.
Having claimed a tough semi-final victory on a split decision, Lee beat previously-unbeaten Luke Bellfield (Chalvedon) by the same margin to take the top honours.
He followed that up with more success at the Hull Box Cup, taking gold alongside fellow 12-year-old Daisy Lambert.
And Irish eyes were smiling on Platinum when they struck gold again at the Monkstown Box Cup in Dublin through 15-year-olds Chris Windle and Jake Leeming.
Coach Dave Nelson insists the club are in high spirits ahead of their home show at the Springfield Centre on Saturday.
