PUDSEY'S Liam Griffin and the Isle of Man's John Kennish were week seven qualifiers in the 2015 Spen Masters, sponsored by P&I Hopkins Butchers of Birkenshaw.

Kennish defeated Craig Gant (Netherton) 21-13, Callum Wraight (Shrewsbury) 21-20 and Dave Penketh (St Oswalds) 21-19, while Griffin was in scintillating form with wins over Kevin Burns (Ossett Flying Horse) 21-8, Scott Fisher (Dendy Grange) 21-13 and Lee Johnstone (Poynton) 21-5.

The final qualifying round takes place tomorrow evening, with the finals to be played tomorrow week.

Liam Fallas (Crosland Moor) and Conor Chamberlain (Stretton Anglesey) were the final qualifiers in the 2015 Pudsey Classic.

Fallas edged past Paul Chamberlain (Stretton Anglesey) 21-20 in the first round before wins over fellow Crosland Moor bowlers John Greenhalgh 21-19 and Gary Siswick 21-19.

Chamberlain made it through with wins over Josh Brown (Kirkheaton Cons) 21-18, Richard Stockdale (Eccleshill) 21-12 and Andy Webb (Ossett Flying Horse) 21-20.

The finals get under way tomorrow (Saturday) from 5pm, with three previous winners among the star-studded line up.

Chris Brown (Lower Hopton), champion in 2007, opens up against Wayne Ditchfield (Eccleston), while 2005 and 2010 victor Garry Ellis (Whitefield) takes on Darren Plenderleith (Greville Arms).

Brown and Ellis could face each other in the last eight if both progress.

Meanwhile, 2013 winner James Davison (Eccleshill) starts against Chris Slater (Rhos Park) in the top half of the draw.

There is also an added incentive for the 2015 Pudsey Classic winner, with a place in the Champion of Champions.
